I know I said this would be up last night, but.... didn't happen. The show was rando for sure. If you missed it, just plug this link into Real Player and you can listen to my latest show: http://media-srv1.its.vanderbilt.edu/ramgen/wrvu/archive/backchannel.rm
So, here are some links for the videos from last night
Double Rainbow:
Double Rainbow song that I played:
Double Rainbow Auto-Tuned (not played on air):
Antoine Dodson (they rapin' errbody out here) original video:
Antoine's reaction to being efamous (not played on air). Note the fact they censor him saying the word ass, then talk about how he shouldn't be censored from telling his message. WTF?!:
Antoine song I played:
I should write more, but I'm not gonna. Ha. I will leave you with one more video, though. Please vote for this guy tomorrow...

As I mentioned on the show tonight, there's lots of stuff that I'm gonna post. All rando and pointless. Just like life. ha
This is a good review of the last Riverdales record that came out in the fall.

(more on the 27th greatest band of all time) Please don't believe reviews of Tarantula (their newest record). Totally bogus. Just get the album yourself!

Record Store Day catalogue
Well, Record Store Day was great for my ears, but not for my bank account. I had a great time at The Great Escape on Charlotte Avenue. I walked in at 10:15 and got all the RSD specials that I wanted without waiting in line. I then looked through all the fifty cent LPs. I spent way more money than I should have, but I did fairly well. Here's the list of the records I bought:
Just listened to the Beastie Boys Record Store Day 12" single. Daft Punk samples?! Oh yeah.
I went to Grimey's for a bit, but wasn't there too long. I was at one of the check-points for the first alley-cat of the spring. I just sat outside Yazoo (the new place is great, btw) for a while and drank and chatted with some people from Denmark. It was very "laterly." Then went to a cook-out, drank some more beers, had some food, and ended up calling 911 for the second time in my life. We saw this woman wreck her car by where we were. She was okay, but not excited. We think she hit the gas instead of the brake and she destroyed a sign and almost hit a house. Crazy stuff.

Last post twenty days ago... No good. I have a lot on my mind these days, which is my excuse currently for not updating much. I used to just be lazy. Wait, I'm still lazy, but trying not to be as to better my life. Man this blog is pretty boring. I'm excited about this weekend because I'm off to Richmond, VA for the NAHBS to do bicycle related things. I have no clue what to expect, but I wish I had my new bike for the trip. Oh well. This is the last hoorah for Bikecycle and me. Some people name their bikes, and when I finally decided I should, I knew I'd be getting a new one so Bikecycle it is. My buddy will be receiving Bikecycle, so he'll be in good hands. One of my besties is leaving Nashville for NYC for about three months. She made the observation that it was ironic she felt closer to everyone just as she's about to leave. I feel the same about her and my bike. I'll survive.
Anyhow, new music..... It's hard to keep up with as I'm usually adding to my collection pretty regularly. I've been building my vinyl collection up the past year and a half with a lot of things that I love and wanted on vinyl. Last week saw the addition of Bad Religion - No Control (my favourite) and Adolescents' self titled record. Also as a gift I received Maximum Rocknroll's vinyl only rerelease of the comp Welcome to 1984. Haven't had the chance to listen to it yet which makes me hurt inside. Buy it here. Read Felix Havoc's review of it here.
I wanted this post to be so much more, but alas. The Tussin is kicking in and bedtime is nigh. If I don't update before then, make sure to listen tomorrow (of course) but especially next week (March 3) as it will be the eve of my birthday, and I'm sure I'll play something super rad (not really) as Midnight hits. I don't think Insomniac Motel will mind tooooo much.
For internet funnies sake, here are the two youtube videos I've featured on my radio show...
Bacon is Good for Me:
Charlie the Unicorn:
Laugh or cry... it all sounds the same.
And here's one just for the bicycle kids out there:
